Heartbreaker guitarist Mike Campbell said, "My take on it is it can be whatever you want it to be. A lot of people think it's a drug reference, and if that's what you want to think, it very well could be, but it could also just be a goodbye love song.

This was fun
It's officially summer. Life is in fast forward but it feels great. Beach days, bike rides, stoop hangs, dog walks, sleeping in and still having a good amount of the day to have fun, non stop things to do, being amazingly tired but always ready to hang out some more. It's been great so far and it's only been a week, so I guess things can only get better from here? Here's to hoping.

I am tired. I feel like I've been tired for about a month now. Going and going without much sleep means drinking Mountain Dew and Coke in one day and instead of getting energized you get anxious. I don't even drink pop - what was I thinking! Anyhoo, last night I had a Jo Jo Baby sighting and he was dressed up like one of the characters from Monsters Inc. It was awesome.
Zoe got a new bed. She loves to nap.

This is a blog
I've been a bit absent minded for a while now. Life in it's poorest form has been going on, so naturally things that I would like to be doing have been set aside. Now with spring here and various other sorts of freedoms I am getting back to life (back to reality?...thanks Soul II Soul). In the past month or so I've done a few firsts. Over Easter I drove back to Kansas City with Zoe for the first time on my own - Iowa is a bleak and boring land but satellite radio is a life saver. Went to Miami for the first time for Diana's bachelorette party. This first was well worth the humidity and the attempted loss of my soul do to a little too much fun - apparently there is such a thing. Also Zoey and I have taken on going to the dog park, which I have been frightened of for months. Good thing the girl is a lover and not a fighter and also that she cares more about the people in the park playing with a soccer ball than the other dogs there.
I know that I always do this but, whatever, it is what it is - I am going to attempt to blog more. I've been having a hard time rationalizing taking time out to blog. I've said from the beginning that this is a forum for me to just let people into my daily life. Nothing too specific and nothing especially emotional, just something to have fun with. I will in the future divulge about my private life a bit more, but this isn't a pity party nor a narcissistic endeavor - just a blog about me (ha!). Also, I sense some adventuring coming up that needs to be shared so here it will go.

Always photobooth'ing.

Where is my mind?
Seriously, I think I left it somewhere. Life has been in fast forward mode for the past two weeks for a myriad of reasons mostly having to do with work and it's definitely not going to slow down any time soon. I am going to update via the longest picture post - sorry. Also, sorry about the weird order, blogger needs to figure out an easier way to edit your picture layout in a post.
Production dog.
My closet is actually very organized - it may just not look like it since it's jammed pack. From left to right - black dresses (dressy, cocktail, casual), various dresses (cocktail), AA dresses, nice skirts, silk tops (by color), cardigans (by color), dress shirts (by color), blazers, various jackets. Don't even get me started on shoes. P.S. someone should loan me a closet!
One time it snowed pretty hard. Now we've shifted from snow to rain. Spring doesn't exist in Chicago, just an extension of the cold and grey.
This is the new pup Zoey. She's a beaut and extra lovey. I lurve her lots and lots, even when she takes up the whole bed. Also, check out that boxer face! What's not to like?
We had a photo shoot in the kitchen. Real talk.
Two different colored eyes like David Bowie. So Bowie + Ziggy = Zoey
Sweetly sly.
The pup and I had tea in bed. She's been pretty good about getting up in the morning. We usually wake up at the same time during the week and then on weekends we go out, eat, and back to bed. A girl after my own heart.
This weekend was the Chicago International Music and Movies Festival which Dan worked and deejayed at. Lots of fun. Tons of people. Some of the highlights were seeing Penny Arcade perform, watching the final cut of William S. Burroughs: A Man Within, and just hanging out. Tonight is the final night with DJ Spooky, which should be awesome.
DJ Dan getting to it. I left early this night but I guess the dance party went till 5:30 AM. I am getting too old for that kind of dancing.
The HYSTK crew just had an in house production. One of the reasons for very few free hours in my life. This is the bedroom of a little boy complete with every Ninja Turtle action figure ever made.
Meeting of the minds.
Iphone Joe, Casey in Motion, and if you look close enough a tired pitbull trying out the set bed.
Air Bud. Actually her name really is Bud - at least for now. She belongs to Casey B from HYSTK. He found her about two weeks ago on the side of the
road all bloodied and skinny. Apparently she was a breeder for dog fighting, but what makes it worse is that it looked like someone just kicked her in the eye and left her on the street - she's got a big ole' infection in one eyes that's being treated now. But at least this poor pup has a home now and a million boys to give her pats on the head and tasty treats. Too bad this dog would put the chomp on Zoey or else
they could be bff's.
One of Zoey's past times is being nosey and watching people on Damen joining it with the occasional bark. What a weirdo.
A mountain of CIMMfest booklets.
Seen outside of Zoey's Vet office. They're apparently very serious about this whole internet thing.

i have a blog
Sometimes I forget that. But, in all fairness I've been busy, like really busy. Two jobs and a new pup later all I want to do when I get home is crash but then there's a quick dog walk and dinner has to be cooked...and then next thing you know it's 12:30 AM and I am wide awake in bed with a snoring dog.
About said dog, she was a Valentine's gift from Dan and is a knee high, all white, girl boxer with the unfortunate name of Princess May. Other than the name she is great. Her hobbies are barking, sleeping, carrying her bone around and farting. She's also a talented cuddler. But in all honesty, she's a great dog and while I may be biased, I couldn't be happier that she's a boxer. If you live in Chicago and are looking for a dog, think about saving one from the city pound or from a shelter like PAWS, which is where our new girl is from.
Other than dogs and jobs I am patiently waiting (in my warm bed) for spring to get here. I can't wait for bikes and long walks with the new pooch and Sunday's in the park - these are things that I am good at. But, until then, I will just have to be good at renting movies and drinking whisky, both of which I believe I am pretty talented at.
A really long time ago we went to a Blackhawks game.
I recently found this picture at my parents. I look really evil.
Threadless after hours, robot vs. refrigerator.
Dan told me they were Valentine's chickens.
Dan and the little girl.
When we were brining her home. She has two different colored eyes, like David Bowie or Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman - you know you remember.

Come on baby light my fire
Actually no need, I am easily heated on my own. If you know me, you know my anger or rather how easily it can be brought out. I am not physically violent, rather my words act like little knives. Obviously this can be a problem. Recently I've had an incident which sparked my anger more than usual - I threatened to sue someone. Over what? A dog, and well to be honest, to scare the shit out of them. In the end it was more trouble than it was worth, as most things are, so I surrendered with the satisfaction and heavy belief in some other worldly retribution. Maybe they'll be met with some people crazier than them? I can certainly hope.
Aside from this recent circus it's the little things that drive me crazy. I got mad at someone on the bus the other day because they were laughing too loud. That isn't right, laughing should be something you can live with - however in my defense the bus was entirely full and quiet aside from the man with the loudest laugh ever. But it could be worse - laughing is beans next to people who cut their nails on the CTA (EWWWW and most annoying thing ever).
Moving on..Here's my last major annoyance of the first week of the new year - facebook updates. Recently women have been posting about their bra colors for breast cancer awareness - I don't really care. Actually I do, it is great advertising/awareness and there isn't any bad part about it. But some people are really annoyed by it - so I guess I am annoyed with the people who are annoyed by it. One word makes you think about breast cancer in relation to yourself which is the best thing that can happen - where's the wrong in that? Of course making a doctors appointment to get a check up would be best but giving yourself a self check up is good too. So to all you bra color updater haters (that's a mouthful) - step off! Be thankful that you're biggest worry is people's updates, it could be worse - like having breast cancer worse.
So on that note, 2010 will not be about me being mad. Last year it was about being less cynical, which thinking about now I don't know if it worked out too well. But the new year is dedicated to Sarah Bowman having a spring in her step, not a chip on her shoulder - or at least only getting angry at things that deserve it like those damn CTA finger nail cutters and people who don't go through the revolving doors even though it says so... Deep Breath... Yes, I will be less agitated and possibly share a few more of my smiles. I didn't have braces for nothing!
